Default 98 Accord Losing Oil, P1259 Vtech

Hello All,

Been having this problem for a while now. My 98 Accord is losing oil, most likely by burning it because the engine is dry, and there are no leaks in the driveway. When it's low, it throws a P1259 code (which, I understand is because of the low oil?) Any help here? Why could it be losing oil so fast? Help!

How much oil is it using in how many miles. Would need to know that to know if that is abnormal.

I recently got my oil changed, and about a week later, my check engine and low oil lights came on. It was almost completely empty, so I check it everyday now. I'm definitely not wanting to burn up my engine.

OK, still didn't answer the question. After how many miles are you adding oil and how much are you adding. Like are you driving the car 500mi and using 1qt or are you driving the car 1,000mi and using 1qt. Need to know this in order to help you out more.

I'm using about 5qts. in 600-700 miles. I'll put about 4qts in by that point because it will be nearly empty.

If its using that much oil you rings are shot. Those motors were known to have problems with there rings due to them being so close to the top of the piston. Up side to being that close to the top o the piston is reduced emmisions but at the cost of burning oil later on down the road.

That is why on a boosted F23 with stock pistons the ring lands tend to go fairly easy.
