I just recently dropped an ls swap into my 91 civic hatch, im having a problem witht the axles. the car had dx badges but also had a 5-speed SI tranny in it.

My problem is that the 90-93 integra axles i have will not fit in the stock ef hubs, the ls axles splines are bigger than the stock ef hub splines. What hubs or knuckles do i need.

 

Hi, I started this link about popping noise on the axles on a swap B16A that I have https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2281143 I come to find out that I have to buy the JDM axles (got them of ebay) but haven't put them in yet, but also header that the spider might be bad (because the person that I bought the car from didn't know all about the swap on everything axles as well) don't know if that might help...

 

I used stock 90-93 integra axles in my stock hubs no problem.

 

yes, those are the axles that i have, but they are bigger than the hub by like 2mm. their is no way for them to fit in their. i have talked to local motorsports shops and they have said the same thing, no one knows why they don't work. but thanks for the info GIBSANEZ

 

i think you have to remove the dust rings or something in the hub part dont really know what its called but yeah

He is correct. It just so happens that those dust rings are about 2mm smaller diameter than the axles, and are located inside the hub. at first they look like they are part of the hub, but they pop out with a screw driver.

What hubs or knuckles do i need. </TD></TR></TABLE>you need knuckles/hubs from 88-91 CRX DX/Si or 88-91 Civic DX/LX/Si - if the Integra axles splines are to large for the hub, it must have Civic STD or CRX HF hubs on it - the car is probably a STD model and not a DX

 

I used the dx ones off a crx but si ones will work just as well

yes his hatch started its life a 4speed STD ED. the swap went well but he axels just wont fit. there is a thread in the FAQ section sayint all the USDM hubs are the same? why would STD and HF be different?

It used to be a 4speed STD, mine was the same way, i had to change to Si spindles, no big deal

 

just went yesterday and got 89 crx si knuckles and they work perfectly. thanks for the help guys
