Default holy ****! alignment cost?!

I went to make an appointment today.. the guy said the alignment would be over 80 dollars depending on what they would find.. He said the reason for this was because it was lowered.

What can I do about this, or is there nothing i can do besides coughing up the cash?

Thanks.

Comes w/ the lowering territory. Where are you having it done @? Mines gonna cost like 45(thrust alignment) at Les Schwab. They had the cheapest price. Although mine isnt lower'd.

Good luck

With slamming your car there are things to consider.
1. wheel well clearance.
2. Alignment.
3. Camber adjustment (probably need a camber kit)
4. Axles breaking/CV joints/boots blowing out often.

Too many people lower their cars to the extreme without knowing what they're effecting (damaging) by doing so.

edit: and $60 is the max i'd ever pay for just alignment.
but factor in 25-40 for a camber adjustment (if you have the kit) (kit is $200)
if they'll do that too.

i usede to do alignments at firestone. and a 4 wheel alignment is all thats needed on a civic/crx. u guys who are getting charged extra becasue of stupid **** like that. its not right. a 4 wheel alignment pays 1.2 hours for the job. thats a LOT of time, and its more than enough to facotr in camber kit changes. in fact, they did not allot me extra time if i had to shim a car, and it usually still took less than 1.2 on those... go someplace else.

What does this magician plan to "align" on your car for $80? The only factory adjustments are to front and rear toe. Camber and caster are not factory adjustable.

Do you have some aftermarket camber stuff? If so, then I can see him earning his $80.

$30 sounds more resonable.

I work at Sears, the dude who works in auto hooked me up good...I needed two tires installed and balanced, as well as stems, and a 4wheel alignment after I put on Neuspeed sports and Bilsteins...

He only charged me $45 for all that.

Oh and by the way...I just installed a new Sparco steering wheel, and it wouldn't line up straight when I put it on. It sits slightly turned to the left when I'm driving straight. Do they fix this with alignment?

Thanks -

Alex
