...run like ****? I mean seriously... i want a perspective from people that have owned both obd0 and obd1 EFs. Is OBD1 the way to go for mileage and driveability?
I've never really driven and OBD0 bswapped car that truely ran smoothly, yet obd1 gs-r swaps feel like butter through the wheel, pedals and other various sensory inputs. Maybe my motor is just horseshit and in need of replacement.
Feel free to pwn me if this has been covered before... but i searched to no avail.

I'm just about to junk the OBD0 and the B16 all in one swift blow... [freak] it. The only thing really wrong with my motor is LMAs... which unless dislodged won't really cause a problem. Valves are all adjusted.... no real leaks... good vacuum.... no codes.... good compression test results.... hmmm.
Also i've heard something along the lines that OBD1 samples data faster for fuel trim..... true?

Did you tune the OBD-0 engine? I've tuned OBD-0 (using BRE) and OBD-1 (using Crome Pro, hondata, etc.), there's really no difference in drivability especially on stock to meduim builds.

I can't seem to get the damned thing to idle right. Iacv is clean... fitv valve is tightened down... no vacuum leaks.
It seems like its using alot more fuel then it used to (24mpg down from 28-30) and it sputters ALOT when i'm in gear and closed throttle ( not missing, just a good amount of pops and backfires while delecerating ). I'm running a bone stock ECU so I know thats not it... sigh
Edit: The motor is also bone stock as it sits now.

Change your O2 sensors for new ones. Run the 02's in the correct location no matter what header you use, have them welded in the correct location.
Change your thermostat.
Do a tune up, adjust your valves, all of these things create problems.
I had an idle issue that I couldnt figure out for the life of me. It ended up being a thermostat that was not operating correctly.

The 02's being unused or in the wrong spot wont throw a code, mine didnt anyway, but I only had them in the wrong spots.....
But universal single wire 02's from vauto zone, they work just fine and they are only 20 bux a piece. just splice them in or cut off and reuse the old plugs.
All O2's are the same size and thread, just get em for a 88-91 CRX

hahaa come on... the ambient convo between you two is MUCH more exciting then my shitty sedan lol... i'll have the o2s on on saturday... so i'll be back....
i'm curious how you make out...my car runs ok most of the time, but i'm guessing i could use new o2 sensors too. my mpg is 25-30 but usually on the low side
the o2 need to be in the right spots, but if you go obd1 It will run like you said Butter
I was obdo for the longest time with my b16, its never idled as smoothly as when I switched to obd1, now I also get 30+mpg highway even running a jrsc at 8psi

thanks for the input jimmy
thats precisely what i thought.... i've found more and more that obd1 seems to be the way to go... but i'm still gonna go spend the $60 on two o2 sensors just to see if it gets it back in the realm of being correct.

You should look up EFI University... next time they have a class near me I want to attend.

Have you checked for proper operation of your FITV valve?

Look at yours.... if its not the cause of the problem its probably a contributing factor.. they seem to come loose alot.
