Default coilovers installed hitting bumpstops now, help needed

i just got done installing tokico struts and ground control coilvers on my civic, with the coil sleeves at half way the car doesnt seem much lower.i cut the bump stop in half and with the car on the ground theres only about 2 inches of travel on the strut before it hits the bumpstop,i was wondering if this was normal it just seems that there would be more travel in this setup for hitting bumps

I've read somewhere about extended top hats for the ground control c/o's. I'm not sure if this is why, but you might look into it.

well i guess the car rides good after taking for a test drive,it just seems to me that it would be hitting the bumpstops on the slightest bumps but i guess not,i may trim the bump stops down more i already cut them in half

i wouldn't cut the bump stops anymore than half way, you dont want to be bottoming out . How low are you? 2 finger gap all around? Which tokico shock did you go with? If your dropped anything more than 2.0 inches your going to have bottom out issues. The OTS ground control spring rates are too soft, that may be the reason why you feel like your hitting the bump stop so much. I constantly bang on my bump stop from time to time (damn socal roads) and i'm running 10k/8k spring rates.
