i have a 97 with a d16y7 engine swap no hacked wires on the harness or anything, i have been driving the car with a o2 code bank 1 sensor 2 cel for about 2 months with no problem, well i drove the car to work today and on the way home stopped and got gas, filled up with 89oct and drove home, went to get dinner and the car is stumbling from 2500 rpms and up but it does this randomly and never has before, i have replaced the following:

fuel filter
plugs
wires
cap
rotor
and i bought lucas fuel system treatment for it

it will just hesitate and jerk and my stock tach will bounce all over but it will clean up around 4000rpm

im stumped, i compared the gas in my vehical and to the gas in my girls vehical and mine looks watered down and doesnt smell as strong i need help this is my DD

 

Did you put back in time after replacing the rotor and such? If not that sounds like the start of the classic "ignitor coil" failure.

 

sounds to me like either it's your ECU or the distributor itself..

 

the rotor will only go on one way correct, and thats what im thinking maybe my dizzy is going out

 

I think it does go on only one way, did you gap your plugs either? It sounds like it could be the igniter coil though.

 

they came pregapped i beleive but i did tighten the gap up alil for alil bit better spark its odd on the way to the gas station to bitch about bad gas it only did it once, but on the way home it did it for about 2 miles
