I am trying to remove the fuel pump on my 1990 CRX and the last thing I need to get off is the wiring harness. I think I already messed it up a little (broke the compound protecting the wire itself), but I'm afraid of breaking it even more. I've tried squeezing the tabs and expanding them and it doesn't seem to be working. I think I may be going about this wrong. Pics:

what are you trying to do that you need to take the connectors off the top of the pump bracket

 

I am trying to replace the fuel pump...

 

you cut the old and reconnect the new wiring for the new fuel pump on. the one your messing with is not suppose to come off. the connections would be behind that.
