Unfortunately, that's how much they cost. And that's also why not everyone has one. I got mine new from Hardtopguy for $2975 shipped, which was a GREAT deal. I believe there is only one other dealer in Arizona or something that has a similar price.
A local dealer selling it to you for $3K new? I'd grab that up quick. Most dealers sell for at least $3499. That's what the 5 closest Honda dealers near me were offering it at, not to mention they also claimed they were discontinued.
Funny thing, I got a brand new one shipped from Japan about a week later.
