Default 1997 ITR for sale at Acura2000 of Brampton Ontario Canada

hey guys, this is just an FYI:

there is a 1997 Type R for sale with 104xxx KM... dude works at Acura and is selling it for 24G's and wont go under 20G's. If you or anyone is looking to buy a Type R, please let them know that they will notice that the Engine does not have the VIN on the engine block...

Buddy says he had the car since it first came out and has no idea the VIN on the block was missing. The car is Immaculate, YES, but i wouldnt pay 20+G's for a car with no Engine VIN on it especially a Type R. and it doesnt look like the VIN was scraped or fouled around with, it just looks like buddy got a new engine imported... so for those going to see it, it is on autotrader.ca and located in Brampton Ontario. Just a heads up for those so called gear heads!

thats alot for not having the origional engine, if the engine is a b18c5 and it doesent look the like tag was removed than its a factory replacement engine, but you think the origional owner would actualy be able to mention that

97 type r 70k miles without the origional motor= not worth $24,000

if it had 10k miles, origional motor, it would be worth $24k

Sherway Acura in Toronto replaced my buddies short-block because of oil-burning issues when the car was near new.

The new block has no VIN tag, but it's on record at the dealership.

An 11 year old car for 24 grand is absolute stupidity..regardless of 'mint condition'.

Might as well get an Evo or STI for that price.

Wouldnt necessarily say that........there are plenty of 11+ year old cars that I would throw 24k at.

Or you can buy my number matching 98 with 94K (56K miles), and in 100 x better, TRUE showroom condition for $18.5K

If dude is asking $24K for that car, at the least he should clean the damn thing! And look at the wear on the seats!

The American dollar has dropped considerably the past few years. The current exchange rate is $1 = 1.0033CAD

That's rather expensive.

I just got my 99 CW ITR with 110,000km for $11800cdn. Private sale, one tax~

No accidents, everything stock except Fujitsubo rm01 full exhaust with custom cat and JDM 4-1 header.

Regarding the VIN missing from the engine block: the transmission is missing its VIN plate. I don't recall if '97 models have a VIN plate on the back of the engine block (this may have started in '98) but it would be on the backside, visible from underneath the car.

They started putting VINs on all Integras in 1996 not 97 or 98. VIN on the engine and transmission. Also the engine VIN would be on the front of the block not the back .
