hi, i have a 96/97 civic 3D coupe and wanted 2 fix led rear lights, my question is,

1. is it the same rear light design in civic s before and after 95?
2. if i buy a rear light set (which the manufacturer says) designd for civics 94/95, will it fit in my 96/97 civic?

There are totally different bodies and lights for 5th ('92-'95) and 6th ('96-'00) Civics.

'92-'95 taillights will not fit a '96-'00.

'92-'95 Civics are one generation. COUPE and SEDAN taillights are interchangeable for these years. HATCH taillights are different.

'96-'00 Civics are one generation too. All the bodies have different taillights. '96-'00 COUPE taillights are all interchangeable with each other ('99-'00 are red and white only though). '96-'00 HATCH taillights are all interchangeable with each other ('99-'00 are red and white only though). '96-'00 SEDAN outer taillights are interchangeable, but in order to change the inner sections you need to swap trunks.

So, cliffs:

- '93-'95 COUPE fit '92-'95 SEDAN
- '92-'95 HATCH only fit HATCH

- '96-'00 COUPE only fit COUPE
- '96-'00 HATCH only fit HATCH
- '96-'00 SEDAN OUTER SECTION fit all '96-'00 SEDAN
- '96-'98 SEDAN INNER SECTION only fit '96-'98 SEDAN
- '99-'00 SEDAN INNER SECTION only fit '99-'00 SEDAN
