Oh yeah, and "convertible" is spelt with an "i", not an "a". 
I actually kind of like it, but I wish someone would pull off the slope along the side better. The car posted above looks like it was a hatch and they just cut the roof off and removed the hatch entirely. They should have kept something back there to make the car have a rear still. i would love to see someone really pull this off, but I'm not willing to do the structural work myself (I don't care if it's slow, it's an experiment in chassis design, if anything).
Not to mention I'd want the interior to still look right (outside is the easiest to get done - though I think there might need to be a little added to the rear side window area in order to smooth out the body some). I was thinking some sort of cover for the rear, and better yet, get someone to fabricate a convertible top that would come up for it.
It'd be nice if someone who is knowledgeable about convertible conversions did one of these. Unfortunately the only ones who usually tackle a project like this are kids who got the car for free or cheap.
Oh, and other convertible lovers might find this interesting. You can see one in the current issue of Honda Tuning. It's red.

Here's some other Civic convertibles I found. I didn't say they were good (remember who usually makes these).
I'd like to see some structural enforcement and more planning put into one of these.
Here's a quick MS Paint of what I think would look better. I know I didn't do great on it. It was quick. The side along the bottom of the rear window needs to be raised up some (from where it is stock) so that when you cut the c pillar bar it doesn't look so jagged as shown in the other photos.
I still think the coupe is the best platform for one of these though.
Add on a convertible cover on the back that would make the rear seats nearly worthless (besides for storage) and you're set.

I don't know. I certainly can see it.
In fact, I'm having trouble seeing it as stripes of paint over an actual car.
