HELP!!! AEM TRU TIME GEAR MIXUP
the gears came with the car... i did the timing but im not sure if they are supposed to point up, like the stock sprockets... or directly at each other at 90 degrees like other cars... anybody have them, and know 4 sure???
there is only one way they go on the cams and the numbers should all be readable at TDC, ie not sideways
additionally there are holes in the camshafts and the caps that go over the cams that indicate TDC, if you can stick a small screwdriver into the cam, you're about there
there are also lines on the sides of the gears that are flat and align with the head

they line up along with the head at 90 degrees perfectly. everything is lined up. crank, and both cams i did the timing while the engine was out so i had no problems... it has awesome compression (220 all the way)... but it runs like crap!

any check engine lights? why do you have adjustable cam gears? Do you have cams? built motor?
which model gears do you have? 5bolt or 3 bolt?
what lines up with the head? the degree marks? or the single line?

this is an intake cam gear. I know this because the line on the west end points towards the exhaust cam gear and the degree marks are on top. Just like every cam gear should be with the cylinder1 at TDC.
