Need help with H22A Motors...

Need help with H22A Motors...
I was just curious what the REAL difference is between a 92-96 H22A Vtech motor and a 97-01 H22A Vtech motor other than the slight difference in horsepower, torque and compresion. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

H22A: JDM 10.6:1 CR, 200HP closed deck
H22A1: USDM 10:1 CR 190 HP(93-96) Closed deck
H22A4 USDM 10.1 CR 190-200HP(probably due to exhaust and tuning changes) Open Deck.
There are a few other differences but that covers most of it.

Torque remained the same at 156 ft/lb
Biggest difference is definitely closed vs. open deck. I recall hearing somewhere that the H22A4 had a better flowing head, though.
