Default saving up for rebuild in august. swap or stock?

ok. i have narrowed down my options.

i have a 91 crx si, 183k. d16a6.
i also own a salvage title 93 civic ex, unknown miles, but drives. bad tranny. d16z6.

i will have some money coming in around july/august.
BUDGET - around $3000

I would some opinions on what i should do. Either way, i am going to be rebuilding one of these. possible turbo or something in the distant future, but not this year.
option A: sell the civic for like 500 dollars. so my budget will be even higher, and rebuild the a6.

option b: toss the a6, swap in the z6, more power, but having to swap out ecu and all that other crap with harnesses and vtec controller and things will lower my budget.

and now my other part of the question. i dont know if i want to go for pistons or anything. i dont want to raise my compression because...SCREW PREMIUM GAS!! that crap is already 4.00 a gallon....soon enough more.....
but i still want to have a shop just rebuild the bottom end.....and i will beef up the head.
valves/springs/retainers/cam...what else should i need? what brands?? i dont know much about any of this!

i also am considering full transmission rebuild too..this one sometimes grinds during shifting , but the clutch is going bad....could that have something to do with it?

just remember...budget 3000. go!

jus sum 411 if you turbo either motor u might still have to run premium to keep it from detonating same with domed pistons id swap in the z6 if i were you it makes more power and has a broader rpm range from the factory u shud b able to hit mid 14s with bolt ons and maybe a mild cam that car but i dont think u will achieve 200k miles either way cuz it duznt sound like u intend on keeping your foot out of it if you did ud leave it alone

Have you considered a B-series swap?

I'm not sure what it's like in your area, but I can find insurance write-off DA Integras for about $500. That gives you a B18A as well as a great 4-wheel disc brake setup as long as you can keep your car lowered 2 inches all year long.

Even after mounts and linkages you'll probably be under $1000.

thanks for replies. i know if i turbo it i would def run premium, just wondering about before that, i mean if gas is like 7 dollars a gallon in two years i wont be turboing unless i am a rich mother....
and mid 14's is optimistic for me really..i dont know much about swaps and i would be happy if after all this i got high 14's.. so i guess thats good
and yeah i know not 200k but just dont want to have to fix something after 50k

zaku -
yeah, but the reason is, i have that salvage civic with a perfectly running z6 just sitting there. i dont have to worry about only having one..... my main car is a cobalt haha. so i have 3 cars...only really need 2, and the whole civic is worthless other than the engine.

ok big problem. i went to change out my spark plugs for the first time on the salvage, and i get to the fourth one, lo and behold whoever did the plugs last time cross threaded the plug!! now it is stuck and won't turn at all.. should i even bother with it or just trash it. either way i am pissed!!
