what are you even asking? rev faster??? i dont get what your asking. maybe you should read up on the FAQ and learn more about your car before you try to go fast

What were you expecting? D17A1 = 115hp @ 6100 RPM. It's not a "fast" car.

no its a 5 speed but i gotta rev so much when i go to take off or it bogs down like its going to die thats why i want it to respond faster if there is anyway that i can even make it.

well a light weight flywheel would typically give you a slightly faster rev... but no matter what you do I don't think there is going to be an answer to satisfy you

Well, you don't have a vtec engine. There isn't going to be any extra "umphf" when you punch the throttle. (not as if it makes a huge difference with a D17, anyway) They're just not made to race around town. They're gas sipping, econo-cars.

You can tighten up the throttle cable a little more.

Bolt-on performance parts do basically nothing for a N/A D17. Your only realistic option, if you want more power from your car, is a k-swap. I mean, there are parts you can put on/in it, but for the same money you can get a k20 which is, at least, a reliable powerplant and a good base.

It has no torque. No torque = no power to turn things = no quick pickup.

Get an intake like AEM or K&N, and an exhaust.

It will not be that much faster, but you will have alot better throttle response.

and I believe the cheapest way would be to get a Stiffy- (Engine Torque dampener).I think it is 100 or 150 bucks...(looks tight too).

.....lol

I get what you're saying OP.. you could get a lighter flywheel or tighten up the throttle cable (which could cause problems if not done properly.. but those are about the only realistic things you can do... yea thats all i can think of.. and its already been posted

Not in the lower RPMs which is what he's looking for.

Am I incorrect? No. Being vtec kicks in at what .. 2800 RPM's? Doesn't take but a second, maybe two, before it kicks in. More importantly, that you 'conveniently' forgot to quote(not as if it makes a huge difference with a D17, anyway They're just not made to race around town. They're gas sipping, econo-cars.

I like how you minimize my input in an effort to make me look like a total moron while providing your own "super-tech" quality input..

Very helpful. Honda-Tech is lucky to have you.

ok, I take that back........in general, no throttle response/no torque at low RPM..... any 4 cyclinder honda motor under 2.0-2.4 is basically gutless.

Now I ride a sport bike all the time, so 99% of cars do not seem to have torque/speed/accel to me any more

more horse power then my civic and alot more throttle response. Especialy after the second set of injectors open up

I have to correct you on this one too.

Ever riden in an EG with B18C-R motor? Has a lot of low end torque to me
