what problems will i run into installing KYB AGX struts?
so i bought KYB AGX adjustables the other day to go with my tein s. techs. I will be doing the install myself, but i wanted to find out what problems i might run into, besides getting the bolts off. What tools exactly, i will need, and how long it will take, seeing that i do not have a lift, only a jack and 4 stands, and also do not have the tools of an auto garage. I have the OEM stock struts on there right now, its a 99 civic si. thanks guys
17mm socket and hand wrench for the bottom wishbone 14mm for the top of the wishbone and for the top of the strut bolt 12mm if you have a sway bar and if you take out the lower balljoint you might need a ball joint separator.
I don't use it if you turn the wheel the right way it will come out, or hit it the lower control arm in the flat spot it will pop out but loosen the lower ball joint nut don't take off if you do this because if you hit the threads lol good luck trying to get it back on

Will i need a spring compressor to take the springs off the shocks in order to even get the shocks off? i thought they come off as one piece, i didnt know they had to come apart in order to come off...

Im willing to bet the rear LCA arm bolt will be frozen in... search up on it. It sucks trust me.
You should just buy 2 new bolts from honda (there like 10 a pop) before you do the job, just to have them so you have no downtime if you have to drill it out-

You can basically rent on for free from an auto parts store. You pay for tool and then when you return it you get your money back.

would i need a camber kit? someone said i will because my tires will wear real quick and the car wont handle as it is supposed to?
No you won't need a camber kit. You will need an alignment after the install. Camber kit is only necessary for like a 3in or more drop. When you lower a car your toe goes out of whack and an alignment will be necessary to correct it. Don't listen to those stating you need a camber kit b/c it's a waste of money plus your alignment will be expensive as hell if you have a camber kit. Ask those people to give you actual facts to back their camber kit solution. They can't plain and simple. If you don't believe me just ask your local automotive shop
Just get an alignment and your good to go. Remember toe is what eats tires up NOT camber. Good Luck with the install though

don't listen to someone telling you that you don't need one that doesn't have a copy of your alignment in front of them.
i have a "lifetime alignment" with Firestone. cost me $160 and now i can get an alignment every day if i wanted to.
and just so you know most cars come from the factory with a camber kit (way to adjust camber)..
and i have never had a shop try to charge me more for haveing one.
and just so you know ANYTHING out of "alignment" will "eat tires" toe camber caster.

well i just wanted to see if anyone had the same setup as mine, because u say yours is dropped 4.5"?! thats crazy low. all i know is that with my setup, it will be 1.9 front and 1.7 rear. i just wanted to know, if im lowering it less then 2" then do i still need a camber kit? i just dont want to buy it, if i really honestly dont need it. thats all.
