Dont know if this has been discussed, I saw it in GRM this month. http://www.24hoursoflemons.com. This is pretty funny. I like the idea, but $500? Doesn't give you much to work with. I guess thats the point though.
"PRICE
Entry: $500 per car + $100 per driver + $75 for non-drivers. (Each team must have 4-6 drivers.)
This fee covers registration, track time, paddock pass, club access, track insurance, on-site ambulance crew, sweatshop-made commemorative crap, and anything else we come up with by then. Non-driving team members get all the same bennies except track time.
Not going to be working on a car or hanging out in any of the assigned pit spaces? If so, general-access paddock passes are $40 for the weekend, available right at the gate. Grandstand-only seating is offered by most tracks as well, but that's not something we have any involvement with--please contact the individual racecourses to inquire. Each track also has its own policy on children under 16 in the grandstands or paddock; again, contact the course for more info."

my boss and one of our factory reps are trying to get together a car to do it.they're both circle track, domestic car type guys.i've been trying to convince them to base their car on a Honda(and maybe include me as a driver
),but they have two huge misconceptions that they can't seem to get over:
1-import/compact cars just can't be fast.
2-because they're both successful circle track drivers(one in the Craftsman weekly truck series, the other in sprint cars),that they'll be fast road course drivers.
i've been trying to get to do a track day with me so i can prove them wrong on both fronts before they learn it the hard way at the Lemons race.
