i have a 99 civic ex with a b16a2 motor in it. Motor is all stock nothing is modified.
the car is throwing a p1399 (misfire code) i did a search and i changed out my whole dizzy , injector , spark plug , and wires still the light blinks. The check engine light will stay solid until i hit 3k rpm and then it will start blinking. Car run good . does not idle rough it run like there noting wrong with it. My vtec is not kickin in eitha i was thinking maybe it not kickin in because of the check engine light is on. I need Help!!!

Hmmm. Do a search I saw a few post that might help you.

 

i already did a search. and still cant figure it out.

 

Check the timing, both the belt end and the dizzy end.

 

car run pretty smooth. would the timing throw the misfire code if it off a little ?

 

Could be stuck open or leaky injector or something else that's causing big amounts of unburned fuel to get into your exhaust stream.

The CEL blinks when the ECU detects a misfire and an overly rich condition in the secondary O2 sensor. It blinks when the cat is in trouble, basically.

 

i just replaced all 4 injectors so i know it not the injectors.i heard the crank sensor would throw a misfire code if it out. but we checked it and it still good .

bump did you ever figure out the problem

 

vtec work now it was due to old oil..did a oil change vtec work now.. but still having problem with the misfiring.. still have no idea !

 

are you carbon tracking in the dizzy and rotor at all? and are your plug wires broken? how are the plugs? do you have spark on all your wires? fuel pressure? grounds?

 

Any solution to the problem?

 

replace the whole dizzy. still the same problem. car run great doh! previous owner said he change the spark plugs and wires. but imma change it out tomorrow and get the motor timed.

 

problem solved. crank sensor was bad. did they bypass trick and now it gone and hasn't came back.

 

get a p28, and chip it.....problem solved......also have ur timing done 4 good measure...also have u checked ur crank sensor, or knock sensors?!

 

oh **** my vtec just popped!
