Default Cheapest Exhaust Option

Hey guys, I have a 98 Civic EX Coupe. The exhaust is way rusted out and needs replacing. It is deafeningly loud and I can't stand it, it's embarassing. I tried to seal it with this muffler patch tape, but the pipe is rusted out right where it connects to the first cat, the tape helped a little, but has now come off of where it's rusted. I just want to replace the whole damn thing so I can be done with it.

What are the cheapest options? OEM is more expensive right? If aftermarket is cheaper, I'm looking for the quietest one possible.

Thanks!

Majestic honda sells the extension pipe (from cat to muffler) for 101.89 and the muffler and tailpipe for 121.61. So for $223 plus shipping you're set. These are Honda factory OEM parts from a Honda dealer that are discounted.

I wouldn't recommend aftermarket, because my girlfriends 2000 EX coupe had one when we bought it, and the muffler outlet wasn't lined up with the bumper cutout, and it would rattle all the time and rubbed paint off the bumper too. I was lucky enough to get one from a salvage yard for $70 shipped.

Junk yard,

or go to autozone, see how much it is for the parts, and install it yourself..

if your b-pipe is leaking, you will need a new b-pipe (center pipe),

if its your muffler, then you will need a new s-pipe (rear pipe) and muffler, and clamp, cause if your asking about this, i doubt you can weld...

or call the dealer, and see if you can claim your limited lifetime warranty on exhaust... or something... or call corporate honda, see what they can do...

ebay you can get a really loud cat-back, for about 150 shipped...

Moisture. Usually from short trips in the wintertime when the car isn't driven long enough to burn out all of the condensation (water) in the pipes which appears when it cools down after being driven.
