question about a friends automovehicle..
So a friend of mine recently got a supposedly killer deal on this ef hatch, which he traded his spraybombed white da 5spd integra for. it has a b18a1 in it and the guy told him it had a built motor, new valve seals, p/p heads and intake, 10.5/1 compression pistons, etc etc. Also he said its an Si transmission.
Upon takin a look at it and riding in it, it didn't really seem as fast as i would of expected. then i figured i'd do some investigating with the transmission, and i couldnt find any vin code/sticker on it. I did notice however that it was a cable transmission, not a hydro trans converted to cable like i expected. That being said are there any Si transmissions that are for b series that are cable? i'm kinda thinking its may just be a stock ls trans...
also i took note that at about 60 mph it was pretty much right around 3,000rpm in 5th, and i figured it should be around 3,800ish.
what do you guys/gals think?

i wish i had more to give ya. anything else i could look for to try and figure out what the devil trans it is. theres no sticker or anything on the front so i'm at a loss. and far as internally whats in there i suppose its anyones guess. all i know is it sure didn't seem all that quick. it has a friggin 4pt cage welded in it but i kinda feel like its a tad overkill..
a little off the topic, and dont think that i'm bustin your chops or anything, but a 4pt cage is useless. minimum needed for track requirements is 6pt only if your going like 11.49s or better. from the sound of it, the car doesnt do that. so, IMO have him get rid of the bars, figure out what trans he has, and then go from there. but thats just my opinion.
