B16 Head Gasket problem (Help)
Hey everyone Iv been here for a while just watching and listening but now I just cant figure out what the hell is wrong. i own a 1989 Honda CRX Si with a D16 engine. Everything is stock with the exception of a cold air intake.
ok now for the problem...... a little while back I had a blown head gasket, and with the exception of it dieing from coolant getting into the cylinders it ran perfectly fine with no other problems.
So this last week I switched out the head gasket. Now when I start up the engine it has kind of a bounce idle at 2500 to 3000 RPMs and when I try to rev the throttle it wants to bog down but not enough to die. I thought it was the TPS so I looked and I had busted off the signal tooth.
I replaced the tps and now when I started it up I can rev it up to what ever I want as long as I keep reving it. The second I stop reving it, it levels out at 2500 rpms and then goes back to bogging every time I step on the trottle.
to give you an Idea. I marked the timing belt, I made sure everything was plugged in,but what my question is,
What should I check next? I was hoping that someone might have run into this problem before. maybe I am over looking something or maybe there is something I have to do to reset everything. or maybe I just forgot to plug something back in. Please anyone with any insight, I would love to hear any Ideas.
Thanks.

There might still be coolant burning off, rev it up and hold it for awhile, mine took a good 30 minutes to burn out all the old coolant.
Ok thanks Guys. I got the idle problem worked out and it now idles properly. I have another problem. it hits the rev limiter at 2500 RPMs. when I first start the engine I can rev it as high as i want to but if I stop reving it and let it idle for even a minute it wont go higher the 2500 rpms.
I reset the CPU by taking out the hazzard #5 fuse for ten seconds but it still wont let me rev higher then2500.
What should I do next?
