Did I do my valve adjustment right?
Well it had been quite a while since I adjusted any valves so the other day when I was fixing other things I thought it might be a good time to give my valves a check up.
Thing is.. I didn't bring a manual to the shop, and I didn't really follow much of a procedure. I just made sure to make each adjustment from the bottom of the base circle of the cam. I also did intake side first then went back to exhaust side.
Runs great, sounds great.
I'm just worried that after coming home and rechecking the ACTUAL procedure I might have hosed something up. I didn't pay much attention to cylinder/piston position at all, just made sure to make all adjustments from the bottom base curve of the cam.
Any thoughts?

Just imagine the possibilities if you could though

yes thats right make sure camgears line up right again and turning counter clock, order cylin from pointing up- 1,3,4,2

Ok, seems one person understood what I was saying so I'll elaborate.
Yes, of course the crank was turned.
But instead of setting each cylinder to TDC, I ignored cylinder position, and just paid attention to the cam position, making sure to adjust the valves with the feeling under the base circle of the cam.
Actually after looking over a few things I'm thinking this is probably a better way to adjust valves. Because if you set a cylinder to TDC your cams are never sitting with the base circle of the cam in the down position, but more closer to the side of the lobe.

What? you think thats a better way.
The specs in the manual are based on having the cylinder at TDC.
I'm not saying you are gonna have problems cause you're probably within specs, but dont get cocky and tell us you have a better way to adjust valves.

Not getting cocky just making an observation.
Seems easier(to me) and more precise to turn the engine over to a base circle than line up timing marks that have your cams pointing in different directions.
Also it seems easier(to me) to stick with one feeler gauge and do all intake valves, and then switch to the feeler for the exhaust valves. Rather than switching from intake to exhaust back and forth.
