i know the golden eagle kit would be the best/proven method but has anyone here made their own kit? does the oil line need to be steel braided or can a piece of standard hydraulic hose be used on the fittings and clamped down. the fittings, hose, dowl pins and head gasket seem to be a bit cheaper if you fabbed up your own. im sure i could put a kit together for almost half the price. what do you guys think. please no flamming. just opinions as to why this is or isnt o good idea and explain yourself. thanks.

I didnt buy a kit for my LS/VTEC. If you talk to Stealthmode62, he can set you up with all the oil lines you need for the conversion and at a VERY reasonable price too. He helped me out and i spent a ton less than the GE LS/VTEC kit.

these fitting are industrial grade fittings and hold chemicals like acid and alkaline. best part is they have bins of all kinds of fittings. its all free. if i give them measurements, they said they can fab me up a rigid line out of ss tubing.
QUESTION.....do you guys know what the inside diameter of 6AN is equal to in inches? is it like 5/16's or 3/8ths?
