Hello,
I am replacing the valve cover gaskets on my 2000 Accord MT 4 cyl. The set I purchased came with the gasket, spark plug tube seals and grommets. All of these needed to be replaced due to hardening and wear. My question is this.

I removed the spark plug tube seals. The existing seals had a metal ring theysat on. The metal rings had to be removed, also. Is it necessary to purchase these for re-install with the new seals or do the new seals remove the need?
