Alright so the old 208k f22b2 threw a rod, straight through the block! Anywho, ordered a new replacement, "F22b6" from japan along with tranny. Tranny fluid smelt a little burnt so I opted to leave it out until mine dies - still running strong!
Alright, new engine is in with new belts and all seals at an estimated 25k-45k on it. Problem one that I ran into was that the pedal is A LOT stiffer than before, when I push for the floorboard you can feel a "click" like it pops further down, THEN will begin accelerating fast(er) (Stock Accords are not fast!
)
Problem number 2 is this damned squeek/squeel I have, even with a brand new belt! It did this on the old engine as well, so I'm not too surprised.
And finally problem number 3. After I start up 'er up with the good squeel it has a self revving idle like it's surging, but I assumed this was because of the cold weather. It's 55-60 degrees here and the engine warmed up within a few minutes. Now when driving, it felt as though the car would accelerate by itself; i.e. take foot off gas, goes 35 then accelerates, goes back down, accelerates in no orderly fashion or timed like the surge when starting up. Any thoughts?
And I figure the stiff pedal is from either the cable being re-routed differently or is it has a bend in it/rubbing somewhere, or the tb/carb springs are stronger than the old ones.
Sorry for the novel!
Thanks
