Agree with checkin the basics. Could be a fuel pump:no fuel, Spark, compression. But sitting for a while. Could be a fuel pump.check for voltage back at the pump. Turn the key on do you hear the pump run?
you left it for a month? im guessing you didnt disconnect the battery terminals.
i bet your battery is dead.
edit: i would actually bet money it is your battery.

well OP said that it sounds like its wans to start, but never does. so would that be a battery? I mean in my experience if a battery dies then I get a clicking. Motor may try to crank but after about 5-10 seconds it dies and goes straight to clicking.
I agree to check the basics. Could be a bad stater as well. Just some more ideas to try.

depends on how drained said battery is. it just might not have enough to turn the motor over (turn the starter to get the motor going), thus it "sounding" like it wants to start but never actually starting.
It could be a starter, but not likely, a car not started after a long time generally would not kill a starter.

if it cranks over then its prolly not a starter. All the starter does is assist the engine in turning over. If it cranks its prolly not the starter. CHECK FUEL, SPARK, COMPRESSION.
that's fine but i guess he's problem isn't that serious if he doesn't care enough to check back, or if it was something stupid like a battery he could say something like hey thanks or problem solved. i could give 2 ***** about 3k posts, I have no idea where he got them, could be FS threads or gen discussion for all i know.
ahaha help me out fellas.. my car was running but checked it with a timing gun and noticed that my tdc mark was nowhere to be found so i took off the valve cover took off my cam covers loosened the belt and redid everything...this would be my 50th time doing timing ahaha or some shyt like that..but after i got it back together car wouldnt start...cranks but nothing...checked and i do have fuel spark and compression...car has been dead for a week...help me out guys..i feel like crying without my car running
to the guy up two spots ^^^^^^
First...what year is your car?
Second....are your timing marks correct?
You may be getting fuel..but are the injectors firing the fuel?

that isnt the inectors making noise when you turn your key on...thats your fuel pump. You can check to see if the injectors are firing by pulling the injectors out with the fuel rail attached. Put a small cup or trey under them and have someone crank to see if they are firing.
