Hello everyone, my 94 eg wit a d16y8 has some issues. the wring going into the distributor is all cut and spliced with black tape. already on several occasions the car would not turn on due to wires coming apart.what do i need to do ? new harness? solder all wires? is there a reason why the person who did the swap did this? pleaseeee help me

 

I think the reason it was done, was because its a y8 (obd2) that has one big harness to the dizzy unlike the z6 (obd1) that has 2 smaller ones. They made the "jumper harness" that everyone talks about with these swaps. They just didnt do it the right way, just solder them and use heat shrinking tubing on them and you should be fine
