integra gsr jr supercharger advice
hey, i'm thinking of getting one for my gsr -- can you guys that have tell all the reasons why i should not get it, so that i know of all that cons before i decide to get it.
for instance, i heard that the w/ AC on, there is hardly enough power to get the car moving.
don't tell me about getting a turbo charger instead b/c that i'm already thinking of that too -- right now i just want to know about the negatives of getting a jr supercharger.

Heres on, everyone with a turbo will beat you...
low boost. seizing problems. and the number one reason!!!
YOU DONT GET A COOL PSSSHHHH!!

With a supercharger set up and tuned right the GSR can run very well. If peak #'s are what you are looking at , Turbo might be for you.
You want instant power and low down torque with decent power, you might want to look at a blower.
On a GSR with bolt ons you should be in the 250WHP mark and 160+ ft lbs , not to mention 150 lbs at 3000 rpm's. You can make more with other mods,

err technically both turbo and sc are blowers
but yea, so far from what i researched here are the problems with the jrsc.
1) there is real strain on engine with AC on
2) 160ftlb torque at 3k is real bad for traction at take offs.
3) potential over heat problem?
any more to add to list? i dont plan on making lots of power, i just want a very realiable car that have 200+whp that can run low-mid 13s consistanly on stock internals.

With a supercharger you won't have to be as tidious with maintenance. With a turbo lots of things can go wrong.
Supercharger you get a lot of low end torque.
Turbo has potential to get you a lot of power.
If your looking for 250whp + I'd go with a turbo.
200-250whp I'd go with a supercharger.
I don't think I'd buy a new supercharger, only a used one. If I was to buy something brand new I'd just get the turbo kit. Main reason is because supercharger is really expensive brand new. I don't think I'd buy a used turbo kit though unless I had looked it over throughlly before hand.

The only drawback to sc is that it doesn't have the high top-end potential. If you are going to go over 10 psi then turbo might be the answer
It all comes down to the kind of driving you want to do.
I personally like the instant throttle response of a supercharger. It's best for the street and autoX course. Of course if peak numbers are what you want, turbo is what you need.
I love my jrsc.
