NO DASH OR TAIL LIGHTS 1997 accord SE NON-VTEC
I posted this earlier and appreciate responses so if this should continue as part of that thread please delete and I offer an apology in advance...
DIMMER SWITCH REPLACEMENT DIDN'T FIX PROBLEM
ALL FUSES FINE BUT SMALL LIGHT FUSE (15 amp under hood) CONTINUES TO BLOW UNLESS DIMMER IS DISCONNECTED ...this "saves the fuse" but of course still no lights
must be a ground/short somewhere ???
Everything else works fine: heater, interior lights, brake lights , turn signals, rear defroster, horn, radio, a/c
Original undisturbed and working honda stereo
I removed all steering column plastic covers and crawled and stared for hours but see no "unusual items... left all covers off
re-checked all brake lights and harness in truck and behind trunk cover
wiggled varied harnesses under the hood
problem first started during a rain storm, but I have not ever noted water in the interior or in any odd location...
I'm convinced the head gasket repair work completed several weeks ago by a shop disturbed something under the hood or somewhere - by accident
Yet, I'm not sure where to look???????????????
Does any RELAY ( not fuse) impact only tail lights and dash lights
I'm a modern version of CINDERELLA- must be home prior to...well not midnight, but before sunset
muffinman is right unless you can trace it yourself you need to take it to a shop.......the reason it the fuse doesnt blow when you disconnect the dimmer switch is because it turns the dimmer off which eliminates your tail light circuit....was a new radio put in recently before the problem...because the radio does share a common wire with the small light fuse
