signs that an auto trans is about to p00p the bed?
As I drove home from work, I noticed that the trans was shifting oddly. The engine would rise in rpms in between gear changes. This happened in the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.
I noticed it happened when the car was "cold" and not after driving the car some... should I start saving my pennies for a new trans?

my car used to do that in the morning going to work ... i never got a chance to see if the trans took a sh*t because i broke it myself accidentally ...
My 1997 accord is in the shop for a used transmission installation. It started to slip in cold from 1st and 2nd and when the engine is warm, it won't shift to any gear at all unless you manually shift the automatic from D1->D4. Transmission was flushed less than a year ago. Fluid is still pink. But when the transmission starts to slip, it throws check engine light and code 15 on transmission error code.
if im not mistake either most or all automatic trans have multiple clutch discs ... they might be worn out ... when i got my trans rebuilt the mechanic told me that they were pretty messed up ...
