I have a 98 Accord with a Vtec 4 cylinder automatic transmission.
It starts out in first gear just fine but will not shift into higher gears. The engine appears to disengage from the tranny once it gets to about 15mph and even drops 1st gear after it gets up to speed.

If I stop it will go back into first gear and do it all over again.

Any ideas? Fluid level is fine, maybe a little above full and only Honda fluid.

Change fluid or is that a waste of time?

Rebuild transmission?

I'd guess you are beyond the extended warranty.
Have you checked for codes?

Having the trans rebuilt might be a roll of the dice depending on who is doing the work.
If you want to cough up a couple grand you can get a honda reman from the dealer, and have full warranty on it.
