Question: Installing GC coilovers on KYB AGX
I'm currently running Tokico springs on KYB AGX shocks on my 94 Integra. I bought a used set of GC coilovers to use with the KYB AGX. The guy I bought them from had them installed on OEM shocks.
When I dissasembled them, I saw that there was a rubbery black cylindrical sleeve/spacer that fills in the space perfectly between the shock body and the GC threaded sleeve. I also noticed that the GC threaded sleeve sat perfectly flush on the OEM shock spring perch.
When I tried to set up the GC's up on the AGX's, I had 2 problems:
1. That black rubbery cylindrical sleeve/spacer that wraps around the shock body prevented the GC threaded sleeve from sliding over it because the diameter of the AGX shock body is bigger than the OEM shock. So then I tried to see if I could install the GC threaded sleeve without it.
2. Without the black rubber cylindrical sleeve/spacer, the threaded GC sleeve flops around against the AGX shock body. In addition, the bottom of the GC sleeve doesn't sit flush on the AGX perch because of some welding there.
On GC's site, they claim that GC coilovers work with AGX's. Any ideas what's wrong with my setup?

The most common solution I've seen is to wrap racer's tape or duct tape around the damper body several times to pad it enough that the sleeve will fit snug without flopping around.
