Default Insurance for a 750 vs. 600

My friend has a ZX-6R and pays $178 a year for liability. He has no experience. I got a killer deal on a Gixxer 750 and would probably go the liability route. How much more would I expect to pay a year? I have more experience than he does with riding.

Thanks.

Full coverage, 600 vs 650 I was looking at almost $200 more a year.

Edit: w/ State Farm

DAMN!! This can't be good. Well, we'll see what happens. I just passed my test and have to look around for insurance.

If/when I get a bike.. I'm not sure how I should insure it. Full coverage, theft, what? It would be roughly a 97 600CC bike, cost about $4.. is full coverage worth it for $600 a year?

What insurance options are available?

Hey Nerdish....I posted this in another post. It's what I was quoted for my Gixxer 750. I'm 23 years old.

================================================== ===
There are different levels of liability. The minimum that registration allows is usually the minimum that insurance companies will offer.

I guess lots of people are only on liability because it is that much cheaper.

Rate for me (23 year old) is as follows:
Liability $354 a year......$556 a year with fire/theft.....and comprehensive is $1136

That was the cheapest that I found. Some places wanted to charge me $980 a year for the basic minimum liability. Pish-posh!

$354 a year

I dunno about DC and VA, but I do know that you need it in MD. A few of my friends have bikes there.

Just wondering, are you sure you can register your bike/car in another state? With NJ law, you can register it anywhere, however you have to change your plates to whatever state you reside in within 90 days of moving.
