DC Sports JDM header and AEM cold air intake in the R. Past 5000rpm, when the exhaust cam usually comes into play, the engine is LOUD!! Loud enough for me to think that there's an aftermarket cat back on it.....which there isn't. Anyone no what's up with that noise?

We need a lot more info dude. Did you just install these mods, and now when you hit 5000 RPM it's louder then when the car was stock? Well...duh.

Or did you have these mods on for a while and suddenly it's louder than it was before?

Do you know what VTEC is? If not, research it. You'll learn a lot about that "noise." And what do you mean by "noise?"

p.s. That exhaust cam in in play all the time, not just after 5000 RPM.

The header has been on the car for about a month now, and the AEM CAI just installed.

Yes, I realize I just said something stupid there about the exhaust cam!

But is the noise really THAT loud? It sounds as if there is a cat back on there! I've driven B18C1 with AEM CAI, R intake manifold, exhaust AND REMOVED CAT, and it sounds only SLIGHTLY louder than this...

Yeesh, if this is the norm then it looks like plans for an exhaust upgrade are going to be scrapped.
