Default 01 GSR Considering OBD2 to OBD1 switch advantages?? Input?? Tech help??

What is the advantage of going OBD1 on my 01 Gsr? It is a ls vtec swap and has a skunk 2 intake manifold and throttle body, comptech header and short ram intake with an apexi cat back and an Edyn remote mount breather can with pcv. How hard is this conversion to do?? What parts do I need to do it?? Do I have to swicth the distributor or any sensors?? Do I need to unplug the stuff that the obd2 ecu reads that the obd1 ecu doesn't?? Which would be the best ECU to use?? Sorry for all the questions but I am new to Honda tuning and performance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is a simple conversion to do. You will need an ecu from an obd1 vehicle, such as a p72 (from an obd1 gsr), or a p28 ecu. You will also need a conversion harness to convert from OBD11 B to OBD1. A Conversion harness and an ecu can be easily found on this site.

The advantage is you will be able to tune your car, but adjusting fuel and timing maps using Hondata or a similar system tuning system.

You will not need to remove any of the obd11 equipment. The obd1 computer will not check for those sensors.

Hope that answers some of your questions

With the amount of modifications you have I would strongly recommend it.
I have a 99 GSR that is now run by a '95 P72 ECU and a wiring harness from OBD2a>OBD1. I am running a Hondata S300 in the ECU. No sensors where changed.

No, you will need to put your stock ecu back in the car to pass emissions.
