taking off the door pannels will not mess with anything ralated to the SRS, and you dont need to take off the batery the only thing electic there is the window and locks, but if you want you can alway undo the negative

I tried to get the panal out today. I couldn't get it out. WHY? This is what I did. (Driver's side panal), I pry both side of the door and the bottom part, popped the clips, unscrewed the plastic screw below the driver's mirror, Unscrewed the little tray holder on the door panal. All loosen up and easy out right? Nope!. No more screws but I couldn't pull the panal out. The only part that was hesistating to come out was the door lock area. Can someone tell me how to get it off? Do I pry out the auto door lock panal too? what about the power windows control buttoms?

Did you get the screw in the door handle piece? There's a little panel you can flip up with a flathead screwdriver and then there's a screw there. So in total there are 3 screws to undo. You already go 2 of them. The door handle piece then kinda slides a little to the rear to unhook. You'll see. I usually unscrew all 3 screws, remove the door handle, then yank on the bottom of the panel to unpop the clips. And oila! It's off.

Forgot to say, the door lock panel stays on. Just unplug it from behind when you remove the panel.

And when you put the panel back on, make sure the window is lowered. Then lower the front end first to make sure you get the actual plastic of the panel over that metal edge on the door. Then you can slide it forward and lower the rest of the panel onto it. You'll get what I mean when you do it. After doing it once, I can have the panel off in a minute and get it back on in a minute also now.
