i too am interestd in where you would mount this piece of hardware...
with regards to maintaining functionality as opposed to form...
and for it NOT to be affixed to the bumper/radiator support...
where it seems as though the majority of folks are doing
i actually brought back an archived post to find out more info...
but to no avail...
no response...
i DID get an assessment from a body shop...
and they had mentioned that a metal piece would have to be fabricated...
so it could run as an extension off of the main framerail
any thoughts/suggestions?

what bout for us personnel w/non-mugen frnt bumpers?
i remember the rep from the body shop which i took to attempt to get the front tow hook mountd...
mentioned that we COULD mount the front tow hook off the frame rail...
but it would require cutting of the front bumper...
around the region where it seems as though the above picture has the front tow hook mountd
any more thoughts?

with the hook being boltd up to the bumper reinforcement...
is it sturdy enough to be functional?
from the looks of it...
it seems apparent that your car is tracked...
jus curious if you've had the opportunity to use it from that particular tow location...
and how it held up?

Fortunately, I've never had to be towed (knock wood) I think it really depends on how its attached. I was pondering as to whether or not to bolt it onto the radiator support. After some thought, I thought the stock tow hook location would better. By chance, if it does break, I won't be doing serious damage. At worse the bolts break ($2.00), the hook itself breaks ($100) , and or my splitter gets pulled off. Worse case scenario I lose my $600 splitter.
