doesn't really seem like the "r" version... more like an appearance upgrade to me.

Yeah...me too. Now people can stop debating whether or not the R version of the DC5 chassis will arrive on our shores...

Didn't they do that for the GSR too. When I bought my R they showed me one.

I guess I'm trying to say that this doesn't mean they will not release the R here.

It would be a very stupid buisiness move for Accra to put out a RSX type R right after releasing the new body style. There are still tons of people that will go get a type S. They must leave room for improvements. Give them some time.

Hello? Engine?

Just a body kit, spoiler and wheels. Looks like Honda really is in touch with the import crowd

The Factory Performance package will have an MSRP of $4,800 plus installation. While Acura offers a wide range of dealer installed accessories, the introduction of the RSX Type-S Factory Performance package marks the first time Acura will offer a comprehensive high performance kit to be installed by dealers and covered under a factory warranty.

"The warranty coverage alone makes buying the Factory Performance package a smart move versus buying aftermarket parts," explained Furutani. "And since it includes only genuine Acura parts, you know you're getting the same high level of quality as the rest of your vehicle."

The RSX Type-S Factory Performance package will include:

High performance, track-tuned shocks and springs
Slotted brake rotors and performance brake pads
Lightweight 17x7.5 inch alloy wheels
High performance tires (225/45VR17)
Factory performance rear wing spoiler
Under-body spoiler kit
Metallic look interior trim kit
Factory Performance shift ****
Factory Performance badging
They must think that we're idiots

I see Acura not sending the Type-R for another year or two.. getting everyone REAAAAALLLY wanting one.. then sending a fleet of them over at some premium price as men sell their first born to be able to get it.

I think it's all marketing and money.

I do believe they'll send it... as soon as the Americans salivate a bit more for it.

Auzzie folks get an even better suped up type s...they even named it a Type R.

Auzzie gets:

Brembo's, recaro's, no sunroof, stiffer body, and some other little things. But they get same 200 hp type s motor that USDM gets.

This Acura package proves to me that the Type R is NOT coming to america.

I beleive they'll just wait until the Type-S sales slow, and then bring the R to Hype their product again.....

With the cost plus installation, you've jumped to about $30K...right into EVO 7 territory. That RSX would be a hard sell except to those honda die hards.

American Honda knows that people will be looking for the new ITR or RSX-R. It will come and I think the performance numbers will be the same as the JDM version, just that the JDM ITR will have all the cosmetic upgrades as was previous ITR.

I fully agree with you. By then I'll have my R paid off and ready to sell it for a new one!
