ITR immobilizer....
hey guys i am rebuilding my motor and i dont really want to go with a chipped ecu just wanna go with a stock ecu and i dont know if i can smog with the jdm type r ecu? is the diagnostics port is the same? My friends said he would give me a US itr ecu for free. is there any way to get around the immobilizer chip? i have searched on here and all i see is the prelude ones and they cant figure it out ethier. so has anyone done this? i got a 96 gsr. i hope there is something i can do
. thanks guys
. thanks guys
I believe that the immobilizer is only on 00 and 01 Integras. Just get an older ECU, and you shouldn't have issues. (Someone who knows for certain, please correct or confirm this.)
i think your right it was just that i could get a 2000 itr ecu for free so i was gonna see if i could use it. got it today and the board has been taken out. so i have been told it will run but have a CEL. so is there a way to run it without haveing a CEL? please do tell if you know how.
There's no way the cel will turn off. I'm running a 2000 built daily driver with a ITR ecu with the immobilizer taken out and the cel stays on all the time. Just got AEM EMS so time for a tune and no more cel.
I have a 2000 GSR. Last night i was messing around and the positive wire came off the battery. The immobilizer kicked in and now it wont start. I tried taking the battery off for awhile. I tried the key, locking and unlocking the car a bunch of times to reset it. I also took the Horn Fuse out. (according to a guy at Crown Acura near me that what he suggested) well nothing has worked. The green key light is still going every time i open the door. How can i get passed this?
I dont know near as much as I should about cars.. i just know this sucls.. I was supposed to sell it and this happens a couple hours before the guy takes it..

Umm the immobilizer won't "go off" because the battery was disconnected. It only works because the key has a chip in it thats programmed to the ecu. If the key programmed to the ecu is being used then the immobilizer will not "go off". You sure you're not trying to steal a car and need help getting around the immobilizer? lol
