Default exact instructions on how to bleed mc while on car?

i have searched but none of them are too detailed. something about putting your fingers over the holes while pumping. but if you think about bleeding brakes you would think you would plug the holes, pump release fingers then when pedal hits floor plug them up again. but everyone makes it seem like its the opposite. pumping multiple times then plugging. i dont get it. i need to rebleed my mc and i failed at doing it the way with hoses because the plugs that came with the MC did not fit the holes.

after replacing a caliper and bleeding the brakes and the mc, i still have shitty pe

To bleed the system. Open the valve (at 1 or all 4 corners) and pump the pedal smoothly until the fluid is clear and bubbles are gone. Then close the valve(s). Biggest concern is to make sure the reservoir doesn't run dry (especially if you bleed all 4 at once).

There are a couple of diagrams showing the bleeding sequence of the system, my shop manual shows the sequence as DF, PR, PF, DR.

NOTE: Pumping the brakes with the bleeder valves closed and then opening the valves causes the air bubbles to burst into smaller bubbles or foaming.

easiest way to bleed your MC is to bench bleed it while it is off the car. There are bleeding kits that are pretty cheap but really you can just find some tubing and you'd be good to go.

basically while it is off the car place the MC on a vice where the ports are accesible and same with the MC shaft. You can try doing it by your self but it is way easier with two people. Plug up on of the ports and run a line from the unplugged port to the MC container. Make sure there is brake fluid and compress the valve a couple of times. This should release the air that is trapped in the MC and at the same time it will circulate brake fluid. Do the same to the other port and you should be good to go.

also if its on the car and dont want to hassle with bench bleeding loosen one of the fittings slighty while someone pumps the brake as this is happening bubbles should escape through the loose fitting. make sure you tighten the fitting before he releases the pedal or else youll just get air in the MC. do this multiple times to each port and you should be good to go. Lastly bleed all your brakes and your system should be air free.

Having this same problem. Could you use a mighty vac and draw the fluid throught the m/c from the bleeder screws on the calipers?

The PF and DR are on the same line and the DF and PR are on the same line.

Some people like start with the corner furthest away from the MC, so you would start PR, DF, DR, PF. As I posted earlier, my manual shows to start with the DF. Both methods have worked for me.

Yup. My mighty vac worked. Started from PR, DF, DR, PF. Pedal feels great.
