a LS tranny has the same 1st and 2nd gear as a GSR so there wont be a difference besides the fact an LS has a 4.26 FD and a GSR has a 4.4. If youre doing all motor than get a b16 tranny otherwise for a turbo you can stick with the gsr. Either way a gsr is still a pretty good upgrade from an LS. The LS 3rd is waaay too long.

 

I've done it with my 94 LS. And others say that I'm much better with the LS tranny, but I didn't think so. However, I must say, you'll lose some torque though.

im pretty sure the shorter gearing of a gsr tranny and its better final drive is going to multiply torque better

 

i have a 99 gsr with a ls turbo with my gsr trans! it works great!

i raced my friends ls before i went turbo, and i would still smoke him because of the trans!

i like it. and im sure u will too!

 

I have one on my 92 ls.I love it,im ready for a shorter geared transmission now.
