so tonight coming home from work i opened up my crx on the freeway and notice my tach going a little crazy(like kind of jumping around when im flooring it) does anyone know what that could be? also my cel comes on after about 10-15min of driving and when it comes on, it feels like its spitting a little under acceleration. if someone knows what these problems are or could be, let me know. thanks

 

The ignitor is going bad. Replace it before it leaves you stranded.
The ignitor is inside the distributor.

pretty sure you have to replace the whole distributor .. unless you want to take it apart.

that is the easiest way.

the one i helped replace was 100 for just the igniter and 140 for the whole distributor not including cap and rotor

 

you can try a junk yard aswell.. i got mine for 70 bucks. i thought that was kinda high.. but then again i priced out a brand new one and it was 500 bucks. i laughed at the guy that told me the price and walked out of the parts store. i would never spend that much on a distributor.. its worth as much as my car
