ignition switch on a '97
First remove the lower steering column shroud, then tilt the wheel down and remove the upper shroud.
The electrical part of the switch is held on with 6mm bolts. Then follow the harness down and unplug it.
HEADS UP; be careful of the SRS cable in that area.
The tumbler part of the switch is held on by a collar that has breakaway heads on the bolts. [heads are broken off] I use a small chisel along the outer edge to get them turning back out.
Before you install the new tumbler take it to a locksmith and they can set the tumblers to match your old key. Then you only have one key

The electrical portion?
The electrical portion is 3 bolts like hondadude said, 2 are easy to get to, the 3rd is a pain in the ***, it's located on the far side of the switch facing the dashboard.
