Default ? on Fender Removal

Is this easier if you jack up the car and remove the front tires I am having a hard time finding all the bolts to remove, and my chilton book doesnt even show where they are at.

you forgot the 10 underneath the car!! you're also going to have to remove the bumper to get to the last 2, might also be easier if you just remove the door, interior, and rear tires.

I cannot get to the bolts behind the door with the socket. I woulda take the door off but do not have a garage and its going to rain tonight. and why do you gotta take out the interior and rear tires?

Wow, planning on an EF9 conversion on a $8.50 / hr wage? Priceless.

IMO you'd be better off with another D16A6, but that's not JDM y0 so it must not be kewl. Plus, you could get her running again for a few hundred bucks and may be able to drive to a better job.

Anyways, you need a long socket extension to get at the bolts behind the door. There's also another bolt near the front jack point.

i got the long socket extension and tons of different extensions, I can get the socket on the bolts with the door all the way open, but cannot turn the bolts because the socket is practically on the side of the fender and the door. So it looks like i gotta take the doors off.

I hope you weren't trying to use a 3/8" socket for that.

and I'm surprised nobody mentioned to take out the door pin to let the door open to it's full extension to prevent scratching the door/fender when removing the top bolt behind the fender/door area.

Amazing the questions people post though, I never even had online forums 12 years ago when first learning to work on my CRX. I learned how to install a w.w. body kit, new fenders, wheels, suspension and interior all with just a little common freakin sense and patience.

...man what in the WORLD would we do w/o the freakin internet??

So i took out the pin in the door and the plastic paneling on the bottom of the fender to get the other two bolts off. But then tragedy strikes once more. there is a bolt below the corner light that i cannot get to unless the front bumper is removed. So i start to take off the front bumper. I take off all the bottom bolts, then i go to the top ones that look like big phillips head plastic screws. Turn out the front bumper has been worked on before and 3 of the 4 plastic phillips screws are stripped. Should I just rip the front bumper off or what?

You apparently missed the easy step here. Just take out your bumper lenses and you'll see the 2 bolts behind each lens that holds the bumper beam to the car, remove those 4 bolts and the 4 screws in the fender well on the edge of the bumper (2 per side) and the whole thing comes off. Once it's off it's easy to get those screws out with some vise grip pliers or something equivalent and then just replace them with some new ones.
