don't worry .... it'll be an all out domestic war again like usual!!!
why don't imports get in as much??? maybe imports aren't as reliable as the big v8's...... remember most all out avg. low 10s-mid10s... i think there has been some high 9sec all out's before... go imports....enter it!!!!
so again, all the import fellows get your butts out there... whoever is close to FL make a trip out and get yourself on tv....
ps i hate watching all out since hardly any imports make it

if the track passes it, its good. They care about whatever NHRA cares about based on ET.

incorrect, they just never have good ones or consistent ones in the show to begin with.

agree with you on that one. If there was an import there that ran 10's than I bet it would make it on to the show. As stated earlier most of the domestics run 10's and they usual pick cars that run in that range.

What a day, sorry, this will be long.
Woke up at 0400 and was loaded and out of the house by 0505.
Met Chris from Need2speed.com at the Gibsonton Racetrack gas station at 0540 and then headed up 75.
Around mile marker 358 or so the trailer Chris was using blew a tire, this was about 0800. We pulled over, pulled the car off the trailer and ran the trailer up some boards to get the bad tire off the ground. We found a tire shop 10 miles north of where the tire blew. Chris looked like he had things under control so he told me to take off. I took off, this was about 0900!
About 2 miles from the track, my right rear tire let get with an inner sidewall blow out. I pulled over on a dirt road but couldn't use the stock jack as it was too uneven there. One of the homeowners that lived down the road stopped to help and let me drive the car back to his house and use his floor jack. Heck, he even took me up the road to a Tires Plus. We got the tire swapped out with a Fuzion HRi and I got out of there around 1040 and made it to the track just before 1100.
I received tech card number 408 and as I was finishing up tech Chris called me. Chris' alternator died on the Trans am after he got the new trailer tire and he barely made it back to the trailer, but he was on the wrong side of the road. He had to carry the tire from one side of 75 to the other crossing both north and south bound lanes of traffic. Once they got the trailer squared away they had to drive back up to the exit where the tire store was and then back to the car to pick it up, I think that was about 20 miles just to get back to the same spot on the other side of the highway. No breaks in the median at any point between the exits. They had to charge the battery again before pulling the car up on the trailer.
I was trying to hold they guys up in tech for Chris as they were closing at 1130. Chris made it at 1131 and they wouldn't tech him, that really sucked. I ended up being the last car teched for the event.
I took my first run at 1352 and knocked out a 12.06@117.79, all while getting stomped by a 10 second Malibu wagon. The announcer said I was the only VW there, made a big deal about it. The need2speed.com guys said the crowd was very surprised to see the car running what it did.
On my second pass I ran an old Impala, maybe a 1961. We were staging with the lights but Rich Christenson was doing the street race style arm drop to start the race. I was out pretty hard on the Impala and I won the race. I have no idea what I ran on that pass as they don't display the times nor do they give you a time slip on the second runs.
They guy in the Impala said he had to sell the car now. He told his buddies that the day he gets beet by an import is the day he sells the car. Oops!
That was pretty much the end of it for us. The index they picked was 11.5's so we loaded up after cooking dinner and took off.
There was some dude from Naples who pissed me off. He said he used to have an R32 but now had an RS4 and was cutting 1.16 sixty foots when he ran. He was trying to tell me that I could do much better then the 1.6's I was getting. We all told him that he was full of crap and that the 1.16 was probably his reaction time. I don't know who the guy was but he ran the RS4 into a tree so it is off the road at the moment. I guess that 1.1 60 foot traction just didn't work out for him!
Anyway, despite all the bad things that happened today we had a pretty good time.

Hey mang! I saw you there!!!
I was wondering what you were running but never got around to ask. I was parked rows down from you.
I had the white ranger with black stripes.. 10.2 @ 128mph baby!!!!!!
I find it rather awesome that we ran faster than the class they picked
