Quick question: 5w-30 or 10w-30?
I'm going to pick up some Amsoil today and I can't remember which viscosity I usually get. 5 or 10? Its for springtime Chicago driving in my teg.
5w30 if its gonna get below freezing, and i heard 10w30 is better if its gonna get up around 80 or higher. if you follow the 3 month intervals, that means 10w30.
I normally use 5W30 on my daily drivers and 10W30 on my track cars since they usually don't come out under 40-50 degrees anyway. I've noticed greater oil consumption with 5W30 cars on the track, 10W30 usually holds the same oil level all day.

Other then the price, I'm not sure what the difference is. But I use the ASL.
