Default Quick question: 5w-30 or 10w-30?

I'm going to pick up some Amsoil today and I can't remember which viscosity I usually get. 5 or 10? Its for springtime Chicago driving in my teg.

I use 5w30. I think I get the AMS Oil XL. I'm not sure as the bottle is at home. Hope that kinda helps you out.

5w30 if its gonna get below freezing, and i heard 10w30 is better if its gonna get up around 80 or higher. if you follow the 3 month intervals, that means 10w30.

5w30 is for colder weather and 10w30 is for warmer weather from what i heard. 5w30 is more preffed though cause its all season

I normally use 5W30 on my daily drivers and 10W30 on my track cars since they usually don't come out under 40-50 degrees anyway. I've noticed greater oil consumption with 5W30 cars on the track, 10W30 usually holds the same oil level all day.
