CD9 sidelights removal
Help!
Trying to change the sidelight bulbs in a CD9 but have to take the whole unit out.
The book simply says unscrew sidelight fixing from main headlight and then slide out.
This doesn't work.
The plastic is old ..... and I've now damaged the retention clips but still can't get the thing out.
Any help or ideas ?

picture of said lights would help out tremendously. Chances are there is a plug on the inside to twist and pull out to change bulb.
Remove the screw that you zoomed in on. The light then slides forward towards the front of the car. When you are standing directly in front of your car, pull this towards you. You will then see the bulbs inside to change out. After changed, slide light back towards trunk and secur with screw. Should take about 2-3 minutes to remove, replace bulb and re-install.
Thanks..
I tried exactly that and the sidelight unit simply won't move more than 1/4 inch out.
It seems to be very tightly fitted.
I never normally struggle with replacing bit & pieces on the car......be it headlights, indicator lights or internal ones etc.
Just wondering if any other cd9 owners have experienced the same and how the got it out. The handbook picture must be correct.
Cheers/Tim

Lol, seriously put some grunt into it.
There's a metal nub that slips into a plastic clip in there.
I use a screwdriver and leverage it against the car's cross member and that plastic arm. So in the last picture I'd put it between the green/blue frame and the plastic arm (no screw obviously)
It should pop out after a bit.

Only thing I can think of that might be keeping it from coming all the way out is the bulb wiring. Try unplugging/removing the bulbs from the light, then taking it out the rest of the way.
I had to do mine about a month ago and the metal ball that holds the back of the light in the bracket was so corroted in there that I had to replace the marker lights them self. I completely destroid them taking them out. You may end up doing the same.
