so now that the 06-08 civic si are finally getting the recall on the third gear, on mishifts and pop out when will acura putting a recall for the same problem for the rsx?

does any one know??? I own both a 05 type s and a 08 mugen si

Siince they haven't been in production for 2 years. I doubt you'll see a recall on them. The Rsx transmissions have had problems since 2002, but seem to be minimal or non exsistent when Honda MTF is applied. I've always used the Honda MTF and have not had any grinds or pop outs since I've had the car. Mine's an '02.

we rsx guys have been after acura for years
most of the stories i hear is that the dealership "can not replicate the problem"
i'm sure they all know what the problem is

 

Actually there is a Service Bulletin on the 2002-03 RSX models, and 2004 models up to VIN ...12577. For the 2nd gear grind and 3rd gear wall.

Ninja Edit: yeah they have to be able to get the car to do it for them to cover it.

 

They'll granny shift the hell out of it so they will never see a grind or a wall in any gear.

 

My car only has the 3rd gear wall when your granny shifting. I'll probably just take care of it when i change out the FD and add and LSD.

 

thanks for the info, but have u guys heard anything about the 05-06 grinding? mine slips and grinds bad in both 2and and third..
