Yep sounds about right.

*edit*

I'll be a bit more helpful. Lol.

You're pretty much safe to drive a car to redline so long as it's not EVERY single day EVERY single gear or you can cause excessive wear on parts. The other thing to keep in mind is you have the A3 (weaker of the two) K20A motors so you probably won't even be making as much useful power up there.

As to vtec popping louder, the A3's vtec is not the "vTAKKKK!!@" that everyone screams about, so you won't really be *hearing* it as much as you would in a RSX-S or a new Civic SI.

In regards to upgrading parts, you can look into a A2 swap (RSX-S) or an A2 head swap, or a turbo.

<- Not an EP3 owner but a fan of them

I'm guessing if your vtak starts to "pop" it would be a bad thing. An intake will help you hear it better though.

Vtec engages at 2200, so no "pop". No real safe way of revving to 8K (get an S2000 for that). You cannot swap Type S cams without the head and that is still not a direct swap. You could get I/RH/E with KPro and have a lot more power output, but if you are only into VTEC "pop"... nevermind. Research you car next time BEFORE you purchase.

You won't be making any power up there and aside from the obvious engine damage, a3 accessory pulleys (connected by S-selt) aren't supposed to spin that fast and you'll be overloading your alternator, etc.

A3 - boost
A2 - NA or boost
JDM A - NA

Suspension first. Performance second. Appearance goodies last. (JDM or USDM or whatever).

there is no best. it all depends on your budget and what you're trying to get out of it. I suggest you do a lot of research before you get into boosting. will you have a car to drive around if you car does break down?
