does anyone know why my CEL turns on after intalling the cold air?

 

did you connect all the sensors back up and what year do you have

si or non si? I know alot of people were having problems on the non Si civics with check engine lights

 

si, yeah my buddies brother had that problem with his EX

 

the si's have the same problem with aem intakes.

i havent heard any problems with injen yet.

 

yeah i heard that too, i just forgot what im friend told me about aems, and when i got it i just remembered, so i was like **** ha

 

ya it throws the system lean code.

 

i occasionally throw one with my aem cold air in my LX.

my solution...91 octane. seems to work. i only throw one now when someone stalls in my car

 

what about 93 premium cuz ive been using midgrade cuz gas is way too expensive

hey, brosi101, i had the same problem with my aem cold air intake, what would happen was that wen i was idling the engine would just die out, and the CEL would be on all the time, what it is is that the comp is just getting adjusted to the amount of air that is coming in compared to the factory, if you reset the comp and enter the code agen it should re adjust itself after a couple of days

 

just got my aem intake installed today no problems
